BUT, I just called my local tire shop yesterday and asked this very question... (should I paint the inside of the rim where the tire goes). WELL... they told me that there really isn't a reason to... that the paint is gone on most of the rims that come in to their shop. I don't think it was true, but it is what they told me... Over the past several decades I've only seen a very few steel painted wheels with the 'paint gone' on the inside of the wheels. Cars, trucks, power equipment... Skwerl58 730 #16 Posted February 18, 2022 The auto parts stores usually carry the argent wheel paint. Dupli color is one of the name brands. Ford wheels were argent colored for years. JCM 9,669 #17 Posted February 19, 2022 Rustoleum #248927 steel High Perf wheel Custom shop works well with rusty metal primer #347321 even if there not rusty lays down a nice base.
