stevasaurus 22,919 #2 Posted February 18, 2022 Take a look at this thread, your answer might be in there. I would paint the inside of the rims, so would the factory.

BUT, I just called my local tire shop yesterday and asked this very question... (should I paint the inside of the rim where the tire goes). WELL... they told me that there really isn't a reason to... that the paint is gone on most of the rims that come in to their shop. I don't think it was true, but it is what they told me... Over the past several decades I've only seen a very few steel painted wheels with the 'paint gone' on the inside of the wheels. Cars, trucks, power equipment... The ones that were rusted to 5h1t were probably subjected to water in the air lines, or some type of stop leak.

Snoopy11 5,717 #8 Posted February 18, 2022 I didn't think they were telling me the truth either, @Jeff-C175... then they told me that they were going to charge be $80+ for getting all of my tires put on... and I hung up on them... I'll put my own tires on... thank-you very much... Don

Fishroe 261 #11 Posted February 18, 2022 If mine are rusted inside I probably will prime and paint after reading the paint thread I’ll see if rustoleum has a silver metallic
Lee1977 6,887 #12 Posted February 18, 2022 Rally Wheel Argent Silver is a closer match. The Rustoleum may be all right, but some of the silver paint is too bright.
Fishroe 261 #13 Posted February 18, 2022 Is rally wheel the name brand, if so who sells it I’ve never heard of it. When I hear rally wheel I think of Chevy wheels

Skwerl58 730 #16 Posted February 18, 2022 The auto parts stores usually carry the argent wheel paint. Dupli color is one of the name brands. Ford wheels were argent colored for years. I used Sparvar Bright silver with clear years ago and it held up well.
JCM 9,669 #17 Posted February 19, 2022 Rustoleum #248927 steel High Perf wheel Custom shop works well with rusty metal primer #347321 even if there not rusty lays down a nice base. Others have used Eastwood argent rally wheel paint . The above seems close to the 3,4 and 500 series tractors. @Fishroe
