If anyone is interested, these are from the classifieds. Also very good examples should someone try to recreate the plastic caps.

 

The metal retaining clips may still be available.

No sir. But they are the only ones I would use. I've had several chrome sets, and I never could keep them from rusting on the back. 

 

I sold two new chrome sets several years ago. Just my opinion, but I've not regretted it. I don't have a place to keep my machines that is dry enough. Not a fan of digging scratches into my wheels either.

 

Don't get me wrong, I think they look awesome. I just have trouble keeping them free of rust.

I believe the ones I have on my 520H will fare better than chrome because they are powder coated.

I believe my (Wheel) horse barn will stay mostly dry…

I had the same concern when I was debating using my hub caps or not…

that’s why there’s a red “dot” on all 4 of my wheels… I know as long as I line up one of the spring clips with a red dot, then the clips will always be hitting in the same places, and hopefully limiting scratches.

 

If those wheels did not rust away before I rescued the 520H , then I think those little scratches won’t be too bad on the wheels.
