Unknown Gear

Found this in a box of new old stock parts, most of which are for the old geared mowers. But this looks like a crankshaft timing gear. It was in a plastic bag marked 8941. Take a look. Any idea?

Bronze material. Notice the timing dot at the top.

special gear design, looks like a screw type gear (can only be driven by the right gear, spinning the left gears is not possible)

Understand Mechanical Gear : Screw Gear | Types of gear ...

I know Bolens used them in their transmissions, impossible to move them by pushing, but turn easy at the driveshaft.

That looks like a pinion for use with a ‘worm’ wheel?

@Maxwell-8 you beat me to it.

I think some pedestrian garden tillers used them in the final drive to the blades?

MW-8941 shows up in the parts lists for these models

Some MW-xxxx part numbers are still valid and available from Toro.
Suspect Motor Wheel Corporation is the source of the MW-
