I can't think of any water quality issues that could eat through solid brass in a year!

 

The Chinese brass valves are paper thin.  You won't find any good ones at Lowes or Home Depot.

I agree.  Wet steam is a mixture of steam and water vapor - very hot water.  Running it through a superheater will raise the pressure and temperature, making it dry steam - or heated hot water.
