I also recommend...

Buy Libman Heavy-Duty Scrub Brush

Which is what I have/use... works awesome...

Hot cold whatever. Gasoline and the junk in there won't care because it isn't the white clothes

Anything that fits in the hole will work but remember, you gotta shake'm all out of the hole too.

Nut and bolts have sharper edges than washers do but use whatever you got. Rocks work.

Simple Green or other cleaners like that will work too

Why'd you leave it sitting outside again.

Previous owner parked it about 16 years before i got it, tires were rotted off, wheels partly rusted away, deck was about 40% dissolved...engine stuck, nothing at all moved or worked

HOT vwater if at all possible. :handgestures-thumbupright:

With some type of detergent, if there was ANY oil substance in there youll want something to break it up ---- Dawn dish, Purple power, etc, then do the heavy rinsing/drying.

So here's the plan take the Palmolive and get some hot water but in the tank put a bunch of washers or whatever I can find in the tank and shake it like the world's going to end.

I use dish soap and hot water to clean them out.  Don’t forget to remove the petcock and bushing and replace as needed.  There is a fine screen on the petcock that needs to be in good condition.  You can’t get too aggressive with the gas gauge float in there.  An alternative is to rinse with gasoline till you get no more junk.

Then rinse well and dry well, then NEW fuel line, NEW fuel filter, that crap may be in your fuel pump now… I’d get a NEW fuel pump too… then if she doesn’t run right CLEAN THE CARB…
