Cabs?

I use larger tractors at work occasionally that don't have cabs and borrowed a New Holland with a flail mower that did have a cab. I had to move some snow at work yesterday and wished to God that I had that New Holland with a heater. Probably would've worked a few more hours but even with full carharts , it wore me out. Then I went home and had to do my driveway.It got me wondering if anyone here has ever made a cab or adapted something to work? I don't mean the vinyl cabs but something like the old Curtis cabs.

Do a search on site.  I know some have built cabs and have shown them in threads. My choice would be 1/4" paneling framed out...or sheet metal framed out also.  Weight, storage, and ease of removal would be where I was headed in building something like that.  I would only use that, maybe 4-7 times a year.  For 4 times a year, it is not worth it...I may only wear socks once while moving snow.  I have the pictures to prove that last statement.    I can usually wait until the wind is not a factor...just sayin'

My Ole Man has made 2 cabs over years. Both for farm tractors. Both out of luan plywood with 2 x 2 or a little larger for corners and 4 "windows" of Plexi.  

They were functional but not to my taste of use. I'd want near full vision. As close to 360⁰ as possible.  

Being out of the wind is great but make sure your vision area is what you want.

Of course a snowblower will give you a whole new outlook.
