Responses are not always immediate. I have seen the frame extenders for sale. Give Ebay a once over and see what you can find. WHX?? 48,828 #56 Posted January 25, 2022 Quick story here ...Guy had a 520H non runner fairly local in classifies for free so I immediately stomped on it. Dan and I went to get it. Little rough around the edges but not bad...not bad at all. In good conscious we couldn't take it for free so I gave the guy a buck and off we went. Got it to my place and fingered out the batt was hooked up backwards. Sorted that out and she fired right up and a good runner! I'm 520 heavy and he's 520 light so sold it to Dan for a buck! 3 1
TJ5208 1,824 #57 Posted January 25, 2022 That's actually what the guy did this time and it still turned over but he put the battery in backwards so I figured that out he called and said there's no use in you guys coming it won't start and I got up there and I was like the batteries backward and it fired right up
WHX?? 48,828 #58 Posted January 25, 2022 I don't remember Dan did yours crank over I don't see how it could with the battery in positive grounded
Achto 27,601 #59 Posted January 25, 2022 Crank over just fine. Wouldn't start.
pfrederi 17,741 #60 Posted January 25, 2022 Must be something in the air about reversed batteries. Working on a friends International 300 utility tractor. Won't charge and kind of hard to start runs a bit rough. Battery was hooked up backwards.... ( in his defense it is a positive ground system ) reversed things and starts lot easier and runs better. Unfortunately I think he cooked his V/R

Unfortunately I think he cooked his V/R If it is so old that it is positive ground, perhaps the voltage regulator needs to be polarized since it has been reversed. TJ5208 1,824 #62 Posted January 26, 2022 (edited) Hey guys what would cause the tractor to stall out when you bring the choke down or bring it back up. you can only run in Midway position until it warms up is this natural in the cold? I'm getting more Seafoam today I didn't have very much for it. So I'll go ahead and fill the gas tank up with the Seafoam. What seem to really help is when I put it down the carburetor throat while It was running. It really rolled the smoke it runs better now but I'm just not sure if the choke problem is natural.it acts alout like a diesel. Skip the powerful solvents, you could ruin the engine pouring that stuff down the carburetor. I would change the oil and filter right away if you did that. Now properly clean the carburetor and run the engine on gasoline.

When it's cold out you may have to run partial choke for a little bit. Only 1oz of Seafoam per gallon of gas. Don't over do it.

TJ5208 1,824 #66 Posted January 26, 2022 Last night when the fuel caught low enough I siphoned some dirt and leaves out of the gas tank that were collected around the shut-off valve to let the gas go through.
Tuneup 1,433 #67 Posted January 26, 2022 It wouldn't take long to remove the top of the carb and check the bowl, if your gasket complies. Also make sure that the welch plug near the idle adjust screw is intact. Big source for charge dilution. Mine was missing on my 16.

rjg854 11,378 #70 Posted January 26, 2022 Sounds as tho the whole fuel system needs a good cleaning. From the tank right through to the carb. New fuel lines, maybe an inline filter, and a carb rebuild. 2
