pfrederi 17,739 #26 Posted January 31, 2022 Well my 2016 Tacoma with 30k on it has already been back in to have the frame retreated to prevent it rusting out.... Saw a couple new frames sitting on pallets and a coiuple rusty ones on the ground behind the dealership, apparently some have already failed... 1
peter lena 8,627 #27 Posted January 31, 2022 @pfrederi regularly wash my stuff down , the cornucopia of colors that come out of wheel wells and suspension parts is amazing , that flushing and a driving dry out helps , every joint and hold area gives that saline road salt the chance , to destroy . pete
pfrederi 17,739 #28 Posted January 31, 2022 This was part of an extensive recall.. They messed up on the frame rust proofing. and yes I pressure wash my under side...
squonk 41,110 #29 Posted January 31, 2022 I had a 99 Tacoma. Didn't know about any recalls when I bought it at auction. Truck was spotless. The I start hearing about the frames. I decided to rust proof it myself. My hand went through the frame as I pulled myself under the trunk on a creeper. Did all the paperwork. Waited about 4 months. Paid 9 grand for it and Toyota gave me $15,000. Bought a 05 Colorado plus a new roof for the garage! 2
peter lena 8,627 #30 Posted February 1, 2022 @kpinnc nice looking unit , stay after it , preserve what you have , personally , a lubrication / metal feeding aerosol spray down ,would be easy. imagine an internal oil slick on the lower cab main body seal area ? I live in conn, relatively new cars are rotted out . every seam and metal surface , with a lubrication feed . just me , pete
peter lena 8,627 #31 Posted February 1, 2022 @kpinnc my son lives above burlington vt , since living up there , he yearly goes over his stuff with a lubrication soak down. zero rust or rot , every seam every joint , gets a lubrication refresh . dirt gravel roads , month's of zero cold , the worst stuff. he wears out chassis stuff regularly , and stays on it . hopes to retire to Mexican / Caribbean , bout 10 years . regularly travels there , pete

Mine has the smaller v8, but performs well. Love my under seat storage box like yours! Mine is stuffed with tools and straps and jumper cables. As far as a back window protector, I have a Back-Rack brand unit. It was previously mounted on my GMC but was the same part number for my Tundra. Sorry for all the pics… I just love my truck What size is that trailer ?

Holds 4 tractors easily as you can see in the pics with about 18”-22” of space left at the rear.

I know I can’t get a 520 H and a Work Horse side by side, but I wonder if 10 ft would haul them end to end, one behind the other ?… Go to figure how to transport to Pa. in June… and no I’m not gonna pull a @Pullstart ! Well if I have to I will !

But the same thing. Crappy seats. It had the Isuzu 5 banger in it. Check eng lite came on. Cyl 3 misfire. I had noticed the cold idle wasn't right either. Took it to the dealer. I personally know from childhood or from working with them everyone in the shop. They had it all day. Finally they tell me that no. 3 cyl is leaking too much by the valves. $3000 to fix. I say forget it. Got in it and the idle is fixed. Drove it 3 month's no light. Sold it to a guy in PA and he drove it another 3 yrs. before he wrecked it.

It’s a little known scientific fact that @Pullstartuses secret space alien levitation technologies not available to normal earthlings to pile up all that stuff. I wouldn’t lie about anything as important as this.
76c12091520h 3,618 #40 Posted February 2, 2022 Bought this one new in 2015, traded in a 2009 GMC Sierra that I also bought new ( and couldn't get rid of fast enough). This was my first non-domestic built vehicle, 55000 trouble free miles and we now own 4 Toyota products. In my line of work I get to drive and work on all brands, foreign and domestic, and Toyota was an easy choice. Simple, reliable, easy to work on, and they hold their value.

I'm looking at my 310-8 sitting on my 5'x10' trailer, there's no way I could fit another one right behind it (total tractor length per the specs is about 65"). But your trailer is a foot wider than mine, so you may be able to fit both of yours in somehow... Maybe put the first one in tight along the left side, and turn the wheels hard right just before you get it to the front rail, then try to fit the second one in behind it. Or get creative... There's lots of possibilities between "end to end" and "the full @Pullstart". 1
squonk 41,110 #42 Posted February 2, 2022 I have a 6x10 I can put a short frame sideways across the front and a 953 and a 1267 side by side if I have 6x12 tires on the shortie and the1267

I had to load one tractor, then turn it sideways to get another behind it. Otherwise you have the weight wrong. For me this was how to have a little more up front, so it won't bounce as much.

Even then it has to be put in a lift and seriously power washed and dried. Rust proofing a used car usually causes more harm than good from my experiences.
