wh500special 2,184 #26 Posted February 4, 2022 No Regerts, I don't think I had seen your Lever thread before. They are neat tractors. Congrats on getting one! I'm not much of an authority on their evolution. The Ponds were using scrapyard parts and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they started drifting away from the Model A stuff in the period they were building the Levers. I don't think it's any kind of stretch to think that yours might have been the transition model between the first (Lever) version and the improved (Senior) version. It could be that yours is a late Lever, but perhaps it's also an early Senior. The Levers were about as crude of a machine as one could imagine. Since they started life as a bit of a kludge of parts that were stuck together it's not inconceivable that those that adopted them were also willing to weld and make changes to them as they went as well. I would think, however, that it would have been an unlikely change for a past owner to swap out the original transmission for a newer version. At some point before that thing became an antique but after the newness had worn away it would have just been considered an old tractor without much value. Regardless, it's a keeper. Glad it found your home. Steve 2
