Mickwhitt 4,629 #51 Posted January 29, 2022 Nothing but strong winds here in South Yorkshire. Really gusty and a bit scary with stuff being blown all over. No snow in the forecast but you never know. I'm a dedicated home husband now as Sandra has decided she wants to go out to work again. So not only do I have to look after the grounds; I have to clean house, cook meals and look good when she gets in! A womans lot is not a happy one 🤣🤣🤣 1 1

Jeff-C175 7,202 #53 Posted January 29, 2022 (edited) 10:30 AM Hain't been outdoors yet and it's still snowing pretty good. Cold and blowing. Probably 10-12" inches but impossible to measure because of the drifting. Meh! I've seen worse! Edited January 29, 2022 by Jeff-C175 2

The blizzard stayed to our East. Having spent time getting everything more or less ready for the previous threatened onslaught of snow, one might think this would be a cause for disappointment. That would be wrong. Snow, snow, stay away, and don’t come back, just go away! I’m just not all that into the whole winter wonderland thing at this point. It’s sunny and bright here and I’m ok with that.

formariz 11,987 #56 Posted January 29, 2022 11AM and 17 Degrees here in North NJ. Windy and still snowing until about 3 they say. Got about 4 to 6 inches with many drifts. Not stopping dozens of birds from feeding. Many Cardinals and Doves.

I've lived over on the East coast, so I know what you mean. Drifting seems to be more of an issue on the East coast... although I don't know the scientific answer for it... Jeff-C175 7,202 #62 Posted January 29, 2022 3 PM Saturday 1/29 Still snowing and drifting. I've revised my estimate up to 12-14" based on what I ran into trying to plow... the plow was useless. I don't have any weight on the rear, only 4 link chains. The blower did OK though, that machine has weights and chains. The snow was mostly dry so the blower didn't clog as long as I went slow enough. And it cold out there! A heat wave to EB I'm sure, but 18° is cold enough for me.

I shut it off to do the walks after I done the drive so I could use the walk behind on the sidewalks and when I went back to start it again, nothin... nada... nogotz... When I waggled the plug on the back of the switch it started working again. I have a replacement that I should have installed a couple weeks ago. Ain't that always the way? 1
