clueless 3,005 #76 Posted February 3, 2022 Kev, what temp did you cook it at and how long did you cook? A 9lb butt should be a 10 to 13 hour cook a 250-275 degrees. Meat Church makes some nice rubs I use their Honey Hog BBQ it's sweet butt works great with ribs, no sauce need on them, sometime sauce just covers up great bbq and on the other hand it can help not so great Q. I use the Honey Hog on my pork and chicken smokes and mix it with more savory spices or rubs depending on how sweet or savory I want the meat to be. Garlic works great with pork just a light and I mean light sprinkling of garlic powered on the meat and let it set for at least 30 minutes before putting on your rub works great also a little rub of good worcestershire sauce on the meat before adding the spices makes a great binder. For all you guys up thar who have smokers fire that mother up at least one a week that what you bought it for, what else you gotta do other than shovel, push or blow that cold wet s**t . 1

WHX?? 48,833 #78 Posted February 5, 2022 Got a rump roast and a bone in pork loin in today. Injected the rump with a marinade and just rubbed down the loin. Zero degrees here today so now sure how this is gonna work. Might just let her go for a couple hours to get a smoke ring then finish in a crock pot.
