Just a reminder do you still have that torque converter I gave you with WHrat WHrecker… maybe an option…

I should look at it.  I actually know right where all those parts were!

@Pullstart... one other thing I thought of... just to think about...

Comet 1190 series...

https://www.cometclutches.com/products/torque-converters/1190-clutch-test/#productTab|1

You have to actually call and order it from them... I believe. 24-100 HP rating. Pulley diameter on those are like 9 inches...

I was thinking of a moldboard plow.    ROLL SNOW!    That would fit right in with @WHX?? plow days in the event of snow. :laughing-rolling:

I am not familiar with snowscooters, but cvts, always have a front variable pulley that gets bigger when you rev it up and the rear pulley getting smaller as the tension of the belt raises.

same for the MTD an John deere variable drive.

what did the second pulley the one driving the track  looked like?

What Is Continuously Variable Transmission?

You always have a driver and a driven variabele pulley: kd40kit

@Maxwell-8 I only used one variable pulley and it acts as a clutch.  It opens at idle and the belt slips.  It closes when I rev it up and it takes off.

Ah, you just use it as a clutch, and don't use the variabel speed it can offer.

The snowmobile secondary clutch wouldn’t fit on the tractor very well.  Best I could do with the 2 weeks I took to build it.

You built it quick, Takes most of use a bit longer to finish projects ( specifically looking at myself and @ebinmaine :ychain:haha)

I would imagine... my 800 special build should.... and I say SHOULD... be almost done by the end of the month... but... don't hold me to that...

I'mma take my time on this one.  :banana-dance:

Believe it or not, I’ve been earning an honest wage lately!  Repiping a mechanical room…. Just went out to the shop for the first time since Thursday afternoon and have spent a good handful of minutes looking at this crazy machine.  Time for speed.

Okay, just checking in on you.  I'm sure a few of us were a little worried with no updates at all today.
What do you think the top speed of it is so far?

I don’t know, maybe 15?  Hands down my fastest Wheel Horse.  Surely room for improvement!

True, but it is also fun when the checking account balance goes up to make the other fun possible!

My rear pulley is 6.25” OD.  All kinds of room to go much faster!

6.25x3.1415= 19.63” Circumference.

2.15x3.1415=6.75” circumference.

belt speed constant, apx. 2.91 times faster.  Now, will a 2.15” diameter pulley with an extreme idler pulley grab at 8,000 rpms?

Well at least they're not that expensive.
