Craiggy 1 #1 Posted January 23, 2022 I have an older 310-8 with a snowthrower attachment. One of the auger gears for the drive chain has worn down to the point where the gear teeth are more like nubs. I have tried but can't fine the sprocket anywhere. Hopefully somebody can help. Thanks. Darb1964 1,042 #2 Posted January 23, 2022 I've got one a few years back at tractor supply, wasn't exactly the same but very close and it works well.
squonk 41,040 #3 Posted January 23, 2022 (edited) Tsc sprockets have one more tooth than OEM. I had to add a half link to get the chain to work. Before you do anything, what's your auger sprocket like? Edited January 25, 2022 by squonk
8ntruck 6,991 #4 Posted January 24, 2022 Sugar sprocket? Did you mean auger sprocket?
wallfish 16,986 #5 Posted January 24, 2022 to RedSquare Is it the auger sprocket on a single stage or the idler sprockets inside the blower or the drive sprocket behind the blower housing? The more information you can provide the better internet diagnosis you will receive. The chain and sprockets are #40 so you can find the correct diameter sprockets online. Craiggy 1 #11 Posted January 25, 2022 It looks like it is the sprocket that is welded onto the auger assembly. Size looks to be #40 chain, 31 teeth and 4 1/2 diameter.

Craiggy 1 #15 Posted January 25, 2022 I did. Can you use a 30 or 32 when it's supposed to be 31?

If the sprocket is that worn it's almost certain that the chain is also. You would adjust the length of the chain to fit what you have.

peter lena 8,588 #21 Posted January 26, 2022 @Craiggy , hope you find that sprocket , agree with the # 40 chain , most important thing on a chain drive is to keep it lubricated , never let mine dry out , spray it before and after use , use a specific , CHAIN AND OPEN GEAR AREOSIL LUBRICANT , that will stay with it , that is also anti sling rated . regularly look things over , and improve , pete
