414-8 rear reflectors

Recommended Posts

Picked up new rear red reflectors, not OEM.  They came with double sided sticky foam backing.  Do these get installed with the reflectors or just the reflector without the foam?  If I install the backing, I was going to let the paper on one side so it does not stick to the tractor.  Maybe overthinking, but the foam might hold water.  On the other hand, the foam is a little padding to protect the paint.  Maybe thinking into it too much.

I install them with the 2 sided tape. The white back ground behind the reflector enhances the reflection. If you have to remove them some day a hair dryer will heat the glue up for removal.

Unless you want to stay all original,  LED marker lights are the same size...

FYI on the taillights. In 1986 through 1989 the 414-8 did not come with taillights, reflectors were standard. I assume to keep costs down on that particular model which seem to be somewhat rare.

Or run both the reflectors AND a couple LED taillights :handgestures-thumbupright:

I bought two red side marker from Walmarts and managed ti break the thin red covers, had the fender off leaning up against the wall it fell over and broke both of them. I order some WH covers from Wheelhorse Parts and More they fit right on, about 4 time thicker.
