I move a lot of snow with this tractor. The only added ballast is my measly 170lbs. on the seat.

I have Carlisle tru power 23x10.50 ags. Also a lot of weight. 180lbs of cast iron suitcase weights, 80lbs cast in each wheel. Still slips a bit. On the front I have worn out dry rotted turfs which offer little traction and no weight up front. I might use the roller chain the get more traction up front.187A5340-FE92-42EB-9A6B-814438B53391.jpeg.20235ce53aea5911fd3c2f9715d4ce63.jpeg46DAE57E-3E30-4A35-AD1C-7F5EA797BBB9.jpeg.b96e96e7ddba3fc128ac0c315f82a0ed.jpeg

This past year on my 418-A, I put Carlisle Tru Power 23x10.5-12 on the rear liquid filled with 6 gallons each of RV antifreeze and Vredestein V61 5-rib on the front. I've been very happy with the performance when plowing dirt and dozing snow. Granted we haven't gotten any heavy and wet snow yet this year.

Tru-powers are always your best bet. Believe it or not I think turfs do more grass damage than AGs. Less slippage. Go with 2 link chains though. More of a chance for the chains to ride over the rungs instead of between them.
