:text-yeahthat: I'll bet it covers the louvers on top of the hood and blows hot air into the cab.

I got a piece of magnetic sign material to cover my hood so the snow wasn't melting down all over the engine...

That is part of the cab heating system.  Warm air from the louvers is blown into the cab.

BINGO        With the vented belt guard and the houser collecting the heat from the rear cylinder, the cab stays at 60F.     I have a dozen old hoods, so why not see how much heat comes up thru the louvers.   There is some air, but not really warm.   It may help to prevent fogging on the windshield.     But after 3 hours of plowing, the cab stayed at 60F as before.

Bungeed on too. Clearly he’s from America…bungee cords, duct tape, and zip ties hold everything together. @Ed Kennell, cool system.

Finally got a decent snow in Southern Ohio, guessing around 7 inches. I love summer and hate the cold, but the one thing I do enjoy is plowing snow on a Wheel Horse. I started plowing snow in the small town I grew up in (about 350 people) when I was a teenager. I have several family members who live in this town and we have a few Churches and some elderly folks that I always plowed their driveways. I have sense grown up, went to college, got married, had kids.... yet I still love coming back to my parents (about 15 minutes from my house) when it snows to plow everyone's driveways. My oldest son, now 17 has been plowing along my side since he was about 10....we make quite the team. This year I picked up a really nice 314-8 and for the first time decided to mount the rear suitcase weights on the back. This thing was a tank.

This summer my son picked up a rough 418A at the WH show and restored it., and then during the fall, he picked up a really nice single stage snowblower. I got some nice footage of him blowing snow at a local Church, and he plans to upload it to YouTube soon.

We had about 3 to 4 inches of snow here on the east side of Columbus. I enjoyed taking the 310-8 out to plow our drive and the neighbors. They are thankful, and I have fun plowing. It can’t get much better then that.
