Absolutely agree with the part I put in bold, above.

On a wheel horse in particular that's definitely a valid point and I'm glad you brought it up.

 

On my rough terrain and hilly Forest land I've run 8, 12, and 16 HP engines.

Although I have to admit there were power differences between the two lower ones, and the 16, I found all to be adequate. That said, it should be noted that I'm moving some pretty heavy total weight at well over a ton between tractor and trailer, I'm only doing 3.5 to 4 mph Max.
