C195 front weight carrier info needed

Recommended Posts

Adams94

The info states that there was a front weight carrier made for the c195 that possibly held wheel weights the way it reads anyway.  The flat bar weight kit is a different number and does not come out till 87 as far as I can tell so if there is a different kit does anybody know anything about it!??    It is mentioned with this front weight and also with the ww-93 inside split wheel weights

I’ve never seen or even heard of a factory weight kit for a C-195. Maybe someone out there has one? I’d like to see it!

Agreed.

Interesting stuff.

I poked around the interwebs for a bit and didn't see anything but the old listings for it being available.

I've seen people make brackets from mule drives, but haven't seen anything stock.  It would be awesome and I would love to find out more if there was ever one.

I’m going to keep digging!   I’ve got weights hanging off the mule drive but I’m intrigued by this!

Is it possible that it was put in the paperwork as being available but never actually sold?

Now that I think of it I don’t remember seeing one in any of the brochures either, and I’m pretty sure I have all of them from that era.

The item you might be looking for is:  Front Weight Kit Order No. 81125.    You might find it under Toro Master Parts Viewer, but I think it is NLA.

I saw one on ebay years ago, but it was selling for $120 without the weights.   I also saw one at the Big Show.  I'm thinking of having my local Amish machine shop fabricate on for me.

Well from what I have found, that kit came out in 1987 and the c195 was from 1982-1984 and they were wanting to make a kit for it. I found that in a TSB. And two other things have made it belive that if they did make a bracket it may have been used with the rear wheel weights on it.

Yes it appears so. It also appear that it was designed to hold 2 of the 15” rear wheel weights. If it was ever even produced.  It’s on this interchange list

I have see pictures of that one fits the earlier C-series, 300 and 400.  The black hoods have the hood extended out more over the axle and the hood may not open  That is why the one for the C-195 is different.

Yes and from what I have found that kit came out in 1987 where the c195 was 82-84.  I have seen that kit on the c195 but I belive what I am looking for is prior to that kit. However it may have never been built

Found it mentioned in this brochure for c195 only.  One would think if they listed it in a brochure that it would have actually been available

Agreed.

I wonder if it was offered as a solution to a front end lightness issue as maybe a special order only part built to order?

I get the impression there weren't a ton of c-195s made.

Perhaps offered, but little to none were sold?

Maybe it was a front weight kit, that was heavy enough it required the use of rear weights also?  Maybe the interpretation of the paperwork is goofy?  Like you added all this weight to the front, these 15” weights need to go out back now to keep traction…

If it was a kit and specific to the C195, it will be rare.  Total production for the C195 was around 2000 tractors.  I'll guess that only a small percentage were equipped with the front weight kit.

Yea that is a possibility. It is mentioned like that on a couple different pieces of paper work though. Plus with it calling it a front weight carrier instead of a kit leads me to belive that you would need those weights for the carrier

From what I’ve read the c195s only produced about 800 but could be wrong.  But you are correct it was mostly an issue with the tiller it said in the service bulletin so yea limited numbers for sure

You could be right.  I was pulling that number from my memory - not as reliable as a source as it used to be.

UPDATE!!  Bought an old dealer binder from 1983.  Found this in there. It is the first picture of this bracket I have found.  I am now in search of a bracket!!!
