Larry Chamberlain 16 #2 Posted January 16, 2022 So when i pull up the handle seems that the flag bottoms out on the lift pole before the lift handle will lock in do i need to shorten the lift pole?
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,036 #3 Posted January 16, 2022 In 1973 this was the snowthrower sold for your tractor. What you have should hook up the same. Do you have the flag connected to the correct hole in the correct most vertical arm?
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,036 #4 Posted January 16, 2022 The lift tube should go down to the hook at the bottom of the thrower. The flat bar on the tube is bent so it sits parallel to the ground. Make sure it is not upside down with the flat bar pointing down to the ground. That causes the lift to bind. The lift tube can be shortened if it lifts the thrower too high. 1/8" difference in tube length changes the lift height by approximately 1/2". If too short you can add 3/4" SAE flat washers to the flag to raise it higher.

It's possible... but make sure first that you've got it in the correct hole on the mechanism.
stevasaurus 22,711 #7 Posted January 16, 2022 Also, moving the star wheel adjustment might help.

If the belt fits, run it and see. Maybe the spring has gone soft, or is not the correct one?

I got 33 feet of 1/16 from Amazon for something like ten bucks and it came with a bunch of thimbles and crimp thingies.
