I once knew a fella who added a motorcycle engine to a Murray lawnmower. Stories of the accident claimed 70+ mph. Even heard he raced a Camaro stoplight to stoplight and won. To say he "rolled it" in the crash doesn't do it justice... Guys on Cars and Cameras did something like that. He rolled it... broke the engine head. Welded it back, got on it, drove it again. Idiot... Don

Well, I have learned that... I can only use third gear on HellHorse on the driveway. Everywhere else... second gear is my friend. When you can spin the tires in third gear 4,500-7650... you have to be a LITTLE careful... I have a lot of trees and things to hit... You just have to know... that if you decide to go sideways... you have to be aggressive enough to feed it throttle until you go straight... otherwise... the leverage wants to pick the rear tire opposite of the turn... off the ground... My "whatchamacallit" build specifically includes a low back seat for exactly that. I expect about 12-15mph top speed, and I want to be able to leave the seat as needed!

AMC RULES 37,132 #68 Posted January 24, 2022 (edited) Imagine all of that accomplished in just 29 pages. We have builds here nowadays approaching 100+ pages, and 4+ years in the making, that haven't accomplished diddily squat. That amount of positive control is comparable to any garden tractor that travels over about 15mph. Was literally talking to a couple tractor buddies over the weekend and used the same radio flyer AND 15mph reference I had a 7hp MTD that my buddy clocked at exactly 40mph by 'pacing' me with a car. Completely stock machine with no governor, massive pulley swap and deck removed. It was sketchier than anything Ive ever piloted, by a long shot. You can even BREATHE out of sync at those speeds or youre going in the ditch
