huey 7 #1 Posted January 12, 2022 The transmission shifts fine through all gears oil has been changed. I noticed for a while now that when pushing the tractor (not running) it's very hard to push. When you start the tractor in neutral and let the clutch out the engine sound's like it is under load a little bit. Not sure what would cause this? 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
WHX?? 49,153 #2 Posted January 12, 2022 Might be normal Huey.... especially if you have the correct 80/90 in her and it's cold out. Really cold tranny oil can drag a motor down and what's worse even after some operation, hydros not included, will not warm up much. WHX?? 49,153 #5 Posted January 12, 2022 Couple more quick easy tests is to jack up the rear and see id the wheels spin with no binding. Remove the belt guard and the drive belt and check the input pulley to see that it spins free with no binding in all gears. peter lena 8,720 #6 Posted January 12, 2022 @huey agree with others on the cold trans oil , 2 other areas effect this also , is your related linkages , dry and rusty ? is your drive belt idler pulley noisy ? drag on function has a lot to do with quiet / easy operation . found using an incandescent ( old type bulb ) in a reflector will heat up not only a cold engine but a cold w/h transaxle , pete 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
