That would probably be overloaded in PA. My truck is a standard cab Chevy, 8 ft bed, 4x4 tagged 1/2 ton. I can legally haul about 400 lbs.

My F-150 crew cab could only legally haul the driver with a 1/2 Ton  PeeAaa tag

I had to get  a $97  3/4 Ton tag to be legal to haul 3 passangers.

there’s a hitch on the back of that trailer bed… add another trailer and start a wood train…!!!

I've had that trailer hooked behind a 3/4 ton truck loaded just as heavy as the trailer many times. The hitch on the back is for if we decide to drag a splitter along. Never tried two trailers loaded with wood.:confusion-confused: You guys shouldn't give me ideas.:ychain::lol:

@roadapples, @Ed Kennell. Your weight restrictions sound about like ours. Fortunately they don't really bother with dragging pick ups to a scale here. Fact I don't think that I've ever heard of any one getting checked for weight with a pickup. They do spot check medium and heavy trucks on the interstates though. Technically I should have plates on my wood hauling trailer as it is capable of hauling over 3500lbs, been followed many miles but never stopped. I don't go near an interstate with it though.

We have the same type weight limits here in North Carolina. When I traded up from the '96 Dodge to the 2009 I didn't give the increased weight much thought. Went across the scales at the scrap metal place and thought to myself that load is heavier than I'd thought!  On the empty pass over the scales I found that the load was only about 800 pounds, the empty truck with some tools and me in it was within 180 pounds of the tag limit. Bumped the registration up a couple thousand because they also add the weight of a trailer and in NC if the Highway Patrol has a slow day they do generate some revenue for the state by checking weight, lights and tires on trailers. Easy picking's.

You may be crazy...

And I agree. We couldn't split the knarly beech trees we do with a hand axe.

Doc and I both did!  The new receptionist hasn’t been around long enough to know I’ll be back soon…

I visited Doc for a check up this morning.  He and the new receptionist got a decent belly laugh listening to my story!

I always keep the essentials in a zippered pocket while in the field.  i.e.  cell fone, nitro pills, aspirin, and a snickers bar.
