I've never worked on this part of a Wheel Horse, but I don't think they came from the factory with a bushing there.  You can probably find a 3/4" ID bushing in the small parts section of your local hardware store.  Get one and drill/ream the hole in part #28 to match whatever the OD of the bushing is.  Since there are gears involved here, you will want to make sure you don't move the center of the hole when you enlarge it to fit the bushing.

Why not get the correct one for the machine?

That highlighted round item with the number off the screen shot is the bushing you need.

In general I would agree with that, but I don't think those steering gears would really notice unless it was REALLY REALLY off.  There's a way to make adjustments by using shims, so if they're off a tad, might just need a shim added.  No precision there!  ;)

@TractorChild97  your local h/w store probably has that in the small pull out drawer section , get the specs on that bushing  and match one up , use a good chassis grease, LUCAS  on that , and all related moving parts , pete

WHX??

3/4 X 7/8 the way it looks. Should be in the Hillman drawers at hardware stores but luck of the draw. May have to trim to length.

McMaster has a nice selection as well. One resto I put a zerk there just for Mr Lena. :)

It’s the least one could do in appreciation of his stalwart efforts to keep this place friction free.

I agree with @WHX?? on the 3/4x7/8 .... I had one so wallowed out/oval shaped that the 7/8 diameter would/nt cover - so I took it out to 1"  (they do make them with thicker OD walls)
