WHX??

That is the set screw that holds the hub on. No lubrication need ther unless you plan to pull hubs.

No, that's the setscrew that holds the hub on.

@Maxwell-8  never liked those tiny sealed bearings on those pulleys , the bearing side face to bolt head does not allow a lubricant  improvement. if you took that pulley  to a bearing / pully shop , they could probably match it up with same size/ type pulley , but with a much larger bearing , 5/8 to 3/4"  I D , size , then match it up with a 3/8 ID x 5/8 or 3/4 OD , bronze bushing, with wide side shields  on those larger bearings , pop off the shields , clean them out and put in a hi temp grease , like lucas xtra heavy duty . no more bearing failures , done that on a number of pulley bearings , that lucas grease will not disappear , its POLYUREA  RATED . 560 DROP TEMP , quiet and solidly  smooth , pete

@Joe 77 B100  hey!  you changed your name, diddincha?

A little more about that setscrew:

[/broken record mode on]

You can't tighten those screws tight enough with a simple hand wrench.

They need to be 25-30 ft lb of torque.  Chances are that it's tight enough already, but if you DO loosen it for any reason, make sure you get it tight enough again.  You'll need a ratchet wrench and an 8 point socket (to fit the square head).

That nut that is on there is called a JAM NUT.

It's purpose is to keep the set screw from loosening.

Before you attempt to loosen or tighten the set screw you first need to loosen the jam nut, and then after the set screw is tight again you tighten the jam nut to hold the set screw from loosening.

Are you suggesting that we actually use a torque wrench? :scratchead:

Only if you don't know how tight 30 ft lb is!

Yes.  I copied you.  I thought it might help people figure out what machine I was referring to in case they come into a thread mid-thread.

Now when you buy another :wh: you'll have to hyphenate the new name to include it too.                :ychain:

I have 6 kids.  I think I'm going to have an "only tractor" and spoil it to death.  😃

If everyone did that, their name could fill a page in a post alone

Way back before Admin was forced to upgrade the forum, there were some features in the old forum which I thought were useful. One of which was a history of your user name. I'd like to see that feature come back. Changing a name can be very confusing.

I was just trying to be somewhat helpful by naming what tractor I had.  Not trying to do anything confusing or nefarious.  EcoJoe doesn't mean anything to anyone but Joe 77 B100 should be more clear.  I won't change it again.

:text-thankyouyellow:            We can use all the help we can get some days.    :confusion-confused:    Many times a thread will go on for several weeks and we have to go back to the first post to remind ourselves what the question was and what model we are talking about.  Also, it makes the casual observer who hasn't become a part of the thread aware of what tractor is being covered in case that is the one they want information on.
