SylvanLakeWH 25,585 #5 Posted January 6, 2022 (edited) Excellent!!! That’s actually really old school… many ski areas in the early days hooked up old Fords and ran rope tows off the rear hub… A bit of historical context: http://retro-skiing.com/2010/12/the-rope-tow/ Purportedly the first rope tow, using a model t… Edited January 6, 2022 by SylvanLakeWH 4

Ed Kennell 38,188 #7 Posted January 6, 2022 Maybe a couple bales of straw behind the tractor to bump the kiddies off the rope before they hit the pulleys. Sorry, nearly half a century of Safety Officer duties are hard to shake. What a great idea.....all I need is some snow.

Pullstart 62,904 #10 Posted January 6, 2022 One of the last tubing parties I went to was on the 4th of July. A few good used billboard tarps on a hillside, backhoe freshly dug “pond”, filled with river water via trash pump, and then…. Backhoe yonder past the “pond” with a heavy pulley and chain setup. LOOOOOOOOOOONG rope from the top of the hill, around that pulley and attached to a RZR or the like. You hold the ski handle on whatever floatation device you chose to ride, they launch up the hill. Sounds like we need to reinvent that wheel, with snow!
