Cas does have a point ther tho bro... no eating, drinking, sleeping on or puking on it till its a done deal deal and fully cured. I would even be tempted to put a "tent" over it if you will to keep undesirables off of it till it sets good. Any thoughts to flooding the dining room floor to keep the dust down like a paint booth? .... Edited January 17, 2022 by WHX??
Pullstart 62,905 #52 Posted January 26, 2022 Tonight after some aggressive cards competition with the family, we flipped the table over. I’ll be using my belt sander to clean the drippies off. I signed it way back when. “Built with Love by Kevin Alberts 2009/2010”
formariz 11,987 #53 Posted January 26, 2022 (edited) Great final touch done in an honorable manner. I was taught early to be proud of my work, but if "necessary" always place your mark in the back or hidden showing humility and not detracting from the actual beauty of a piece by placing a boisterous signature in front. A project to be proud of and a great example to your children. May you all live long peaceful lives sitting together at it. Pullstart 62,905 #54 Posted February 9, 2022 I know it’s a crying shame to cover the table up, but hot cups and plates seem to work their way into the surface of the table, either imprinting it or getting stuck. So, we found what might just be the best worst alternative. 1

You gave it a few coats I believe. Done naturally without any heat being applied just as in a booth that may take well over one month. The curing happens by the finish carrier evaporating from the bottom up leaving only the solids. Specially when multiple coats are applied consecutively without curing each one that process can take quite a while specially in a high solids finish like that. You can repair the imprints by buffing that finish with a compound pretty much like a car. Wait until it is finally cured to do that. If you then do it keep in mind that that process created heat therefore softening the finish somewhat. Have to give a little time to harden again before final usage. Meanwhile what you are doing by placing place mats on it is the thing to do. These things take a lot more time to be completely finished than what most people realize.
