C-160 Automatic Drive Belts

Recommended Posts

Stingingbee

Trying to find what year my C-160 is, so i can purchase the correct drive belt. This site seems to be the best one i have found. I have searched the data. My numbers don't match some that i have looked at.

This is all i have.

Tag under steering ID# 01-16KS01-1737.          Then this number is under ID# 9203

All i have on the engine # is the serial# 2603205613

I would like to know what year it is.

Which drive belt to get.

Thanks for any help. Hope i did this right.

It has the long handle that says ( forward and reverse with neutral).     And it says on the side of hood C-160 Automatic Drive.   (Note: I also have a 1984 Model that is the 8 speed trans. Engine will need to be bored on it tho. Ring broke and scoured the cylinder wall.) I will try to figure out how to get pics off of my phone and onto this site.

I’m wondering if your Wheelhorse has a replacement/newer Kohler engine  on it because the serial number for your engine, 2603205613, shows it  to have been built February 1, 1996. Could also be that just the blower housing (if that is where the serial number tag is) was used off of a newer engine. -JD-

Well Gentlemen with all of this info that you all have given me. It looks like my horse may be a 1980 model. Because the 16KS01-1737 9203 numbers do match a 1980 model.  And possibly the hood may have been changed and the engine cover may have also been changed. Dang looks like i have a mixed up horse. So should i be looking for a drive belt for a 1980 model tractor then? And a small note: The engine has been painted blue some time in the past. Possibly indicating someone may have been into it .

I'm thinking somewhere along the line someone might have swapped the engine out.

If you have a Tractor Supply near you, go buy a 5L830, 5L840, and a 5L850 belt. Return the two that don't fit.

Yes you may be right. Engine may have been changed. I know nothing about its past life.

And yes there is a Tractor Supply near me. I will check into those belts.

Thanks to everyone for your input. I need all the help i can get. I will let you all know if this fixes my belt issue.

After that i may need help about the deck. It will not go down. Don't know if cylinder is stuck or the hydraulic valve may be stuck. Again thanks.

Ok guys. I have gotten the drive belt from NAPA and it fits great. Thanks for everyone's help.

Now how do i remove the 2 pulley's that are mounted above front axle that is at an angle that goes to the deck drive. Bearing are shot.

Disconnect the PTO arm that's held on with a spring pin. Swing hoop to the rear. PTO pulleys slide off.

Outer bearing: Napa # PP204RR6                   inner bearing Toro 106769

:WRS:

That is known as the "Mule Drive".  Turn the knob on the front in a clockwise direction to remove the tension from the belt. There is a 3/4" nut (need a 1 1/8" wrench) that holds the cover on and once the cover is removed the two pulleys and the spacers will slide off. Be sure to put the spacers back in the same order when the replacement pulleys are installed.
