jim3sr 2 #1 Posted December 30, 2021 I have 2 175-8 tractors,one was given to me and was used to roll a yard recently and the other bought for the plow (it doesn't run previous owner said it wasn't getting any spark)My intent is to put the plow on the running tractor and use it. As for the air filter, you can download the parts lists and manuals for the C-175 from the "Manuals" section for free. There were two different air filters used on these. The round one has a 'summer / winter' setup on it that prevents the carb from icing up during winter use. Don't 'lose' those mufflers if they are any good! They are made of UNOBTAINIUM ! At one time it could be purchased as a 'kit' that included the heat shield with the hole in it for 'winter' use. I THINK, but haven't been able to confirm this, that the Series II engines all came with the 'top hat' air filter. One would unscrew the air filter top, clock it around and put the 'snout' over that hole to draw heated air from around the exhaust manifold rather than from the tube around the flywheel housing. Series 1 are known for being less durable when driving in hilly terrain I have one, luckily I live next to the flats lands of the Netherlands. I put one (Magnum 18) in a C-175 using a relay. The instructions were on the site here. Much easier than messing with key switch/adapting wiring harnesses because I did that method too.
