Winter cleanup

@pfrederi  my experience with any snow , is if you don't plow it away, over night  it will turn into frozen railroad tracks , I also plow with the sun angle , to melt down what I  just  cleared,  wet and slushy , pete

I would to if I lived where the snow call for me to plow it---- Glad I live in NEA --But I did have to get my 32hp tractor with FEL and move the snow last year. First time in 10 years--Good luck

Gave the 417-8 a little exercise today for the first time this Winter. This tractor always impresses me. Do not even have to throttle up much, it just keeps pushing.

Looks like that tractor is doing a really good job. ----Is that thing 4x4 ---That tractor looks brand new.  Overall I give it an A+

I actually prefer it to pack down and freeze The future plowing goes faster and fewer rocks pushed into the yard.

Thank you for the kind words @sparkie333 . Just a regular, stock WH tractor. For what it is it does a very nice job on a lot of chores around the property.

Looking good, all I've been getting is ice. Maybe two inches tonight.

Don’t mention ICE. Feb 14 of last year we had an ice storm. My power was out for 7 days. Tree fell on my 12x28 shed. Some people in the county were out 2-3 weeks. Had about3 power companies from other states helping out. Trees were down everywhere. It was a big mess

Little bit 'Apples.... they both have ther pros and cons. The deuce does better in slush and tosses everthing much further and I don't even have the rubber paddles mod on. Single is best with any powder and will handle deep powder with the right  ground speed. Like @Ed Kennell says a single works best you keep her loaded with the right speed. Deuce don't care what the speed is. Either one will squeal belts you go too fast.  Light cleanup the single gets the nod. Only cons with the deuce is the weight and the extra stress they put on the tractor. Power to the deuce is critical and I wouldn't put one on anything less than a Onan or a Kohler sweet 16  single thumper.

A single with a short chute works really good in the concrete slush but you will eventually rip the chute right off. :hide: They are just not build for it and the cable turn is a pain in the under shorts.

Shorts are best left in the barn except for any powder where they excel. I used one for many years when I was too green enough to know better but got the job done.

Never was a huge blade fan but rethinking it now. When I cleared last night it was still snowing abit and we got maybe another 3/4". Not enough to blow but a blade might have been nice for cleanup. @Achto we got enough parts to put another blade together I get that square hood C-145 hydro running decent? I have a blade for the atv but kinda a PIA and just not a :wh:

Thinkin a blade with a rubber or plastic scraper for delicate (expensive)  aspalt?

I have the short frame one that you gave me and a few roached out parts. Nothing really in workable condition. :( Plastic wear bar would work better than rubber, I would think.

No plowable snow in my neck of the woods yet. We got a dusting a week or so ago and my 10 year old who is just itching to plow went out started his tractor and tried plowing it 😂. Regardless with the line up of tractors I have set for snow this winter we will have my driveway done in no time! All else fails and I can have a couple out of body experiences I have another 2 stage I can put on my 416h and the 604 came with a plow too.

I installed a "Rubber-Cal" edge on mine this year.  No chance to use it yet!  [edit: yes I did, once so far and it worked great!  1/14/21]

As I recall, this is the 725 PSI, 4" x 3/4"

Cheated a little today or should I say let my WH tractors not be worked so hard because they are getting up there in age, who am I kidding, they love it. The piles were made by another brand, but I just had to get on the 417 to hear the smoothness, is that a word, of the KT-2 Series twin. That tractor always amazes me how it can push that much snow just above half throttle in 2nd gear. Not sure of the amount of snow in inches but plenty of snow for now.Trail system will wait for another day for cleanup. Hope everyone enjoyed their seat time.

Let's just say I love Trina, the comment was awesome, but I wouldn't want to be the one to back into her car, Hahahahahahah. So Mr gear jammer, how's that Hydro for plowing, not bad A, I knew it wouldn't take you long to master that. Oh and just look twice before backing. Lololololo. Great video. Thank Trina for me.   :auto-layrubber:   :handgestures-thumbupright:    Oh, and how many boyfriends has she had that can prime a fuel system like you, I'd say she's a lucky girl.

It's good so far.

I'll continue making improvements and maintenance/repairs as I get time.

Really considering putting a limited slip differential in there...

Boy would THAT be handy.
