Top Tractor Challenge 2021 vids!

After much anticipation (for some of us haha) Redzz02 released the footage of the 2021 TTC! If hammering down on old GTs of every make and model is not your thing, you may want to turn back now.

The B-100 (aka B-1 Bomber) and I had 2 DNFs, one DQ and ended up 8th out of 12, but we had a blast! (I am 'Captain 315'.)

By the way- Creepycrawler and his Wheel Horse 'Rusty' absolutely crushed the competition once again and took home the 1st place trophy!

Hope you all enjoy, and remember, even if you dont agree with this stuff, at least somebody rescued them from the scrap yard and is getting some enjoyment

I'm so glad the Wheel Horses are being used by the owners, and not rotting away. They are meant to be enjoyed.

 

...but I prefer not to watch. Makes me hurt like a video of an injury or something.

I have flipped backwards on tractors a few times in my life and rolled one over once. I didn’t do it with the intention of having fun and fortunately I didn’t get hurt. I think in the future , all the off road guys should come up with a ROPS or some sort of roll cage to protect the driver. Thanks for posting the videos Red.

He parked the big Cub and ran a quicker, lighter machine this year. Unfortunately, grenaded the transaxle about halfway through the event.

Maybe a dumb question but, are   ALL   SOME    MOST    NONE     of these engines built up to perform as they do? Pick one.

I wonder if the ability to bail off is better than a cage to keep you in?

I speak from experience when it happened to me. If I were to do what those guys do knowing its likely to happen, id give a cage some serious thought. Another trend in offloading Ive noticed is low and wide. Top Truck Challenge evolved into Mountain Havoc which is what these guys are trying to emulate . The rigs also evolved into wider and lower to the ground types but with optimal ground clearance. Ag tires are the choice of tire on most of them . Id love to see what the all terrain guys are going to do next. If I were inclined and a little closer to their age, I might try and build something myself for the proverbial shits and giggles.

You didnt get me a 'FEW' choice

Probably 20% are 100% completely stock, 70% have maybe a different air filter setup, some kind of different exhaust, and governor bypass.

10% are ported, cammed, billet rods and flywheels, ATV carb, etc...

A lot of guys flip these things and apparently the natural instinct of getting out of the way works haha. I went over once and am now still very leary of anything super steep, especially a situation where a rut or rock sends the front end skyward halfway up an incline.  In fact, I now have a 'drop on the fly' wheelie bar on mine for that very reason.

There have been a few foot injuries from tipping over and being pinned by the foot board, but so far backflips have only resulted in bumps and bruises. I greatly fear it is coming though as these things get crazier and guys get braver. A few are seriously looking at some form of wheelie bar now, and riding without a helmet is pretty much out of the question for 99% of riders- finally!

Definitely don't want to see any fatal  accidents let alone minor. Sounds silly but MXers wear pads, chest protectors, helmets, boots etc. Not a bad idea when you wipe out. We'll have to get Richie to design some Wheel Horse logo stuff you can wear at next years TTC.

I think you need to throw your hat in the ring. I think you would definitely be in the 10 %.

Curious about these billet rods. If I am understanding this right, billet rods are stronger than conventional rods and therefore do not break as easily. So if the rod doesn't break, what does?

In these engines, Billet rods won't break.

 

Billet rods may bend (VERY hard to do)... but yet another benefit of the billet rods is babbitt bearings.

 

In my experience, with the combination of a forged crankshaft and billet rod... nothing will break...

My only thing is... I really don't like the idea of using HellHorse in the ways... some guys do in those videos...

 

I mean, my old girl will sling mud along with the rest of them... and bring some hell to the party... but I don't want to break anything...

 

I certainly don't mind other guys doing it... and I really liked watching the above videos... but I view my old girl as a treasure that I want to preserve...

After watching the video it makes me want to build one of these tractors and give it a try , A wheel horse of course !!!!!
