pfrederi 17,685 #26 Posted December 24, 2021 I took the mid mount off a hydro and put it on a gear drive. My hand on the lift lever is all I need . Hydro is to jumpy to do a good job.
953 nut 55,120 #27 Posted December 24, 2021 I have owned the push type and pull type mid mount grader blade. I sold the rear mount blade and kept the front mount one. Nuff Said! 3

My go to is the mid but would be slick if I could figure out how to use them both on the same tractor with independent lifts. For now just have to get another tractor for each blade..... You guys with the front blade can you back drag decent with them? 2
8ntruck 6,993 #29 Posted December 24, 2021 Interesting discussion. I am planning on making a grader blade in the near future. I have access to a break press. If it is high enough tonnage, I can curve the blade with multiple small bends. Planning on a replaceable cutting edge. The neghibor ic converting a couple of dozed blades into a V plow for his ATV. This leaves a dozer blade mount to adapt to grader blade use. I had not given much thought to push or pull. The dynamics are completely different. A push blade will tend to drive the blade into the ground, while unloading the back wheels. A pull blade won't unload the rear wheels, but it will tend to pull the blade out of the cut. Seems like most full sized graders are set up to pull the blade. That makes a strong case to build a pull type blade.

Southern_Secret 463 #31 Posted December 27, 2021 My buddy gave me a push blade off a DR walk-behind that i think will work, I will post some pics soon.
8ntruck 6,993 #32 Posted January 6, 2022 My blade project planning took another step recently. The brake press I have access to will make 50" long bends in .098" thick steel. The thickness of my dozer blade is about 3/32", which is close to 12 or 13 gage sheet metal. I was planning on a 48" long blade. This will fit within the machine's capabilities. Made out of 12 or 13 gage, I think I'll add several 1/4" thick gussets to the back side, adding some weight and stiffness. Just sharing ideas here. When I actually start, I'll make a new thread.
Southern_Secret 463 #33 Posted January 25, 2022 (edited) Sorry all for not posting pic's of the blade my buddy gave me, me and my better half have been down with the VID. While in the middle of that happening, scrolling on FB market place I seen a add very very very close to me. The add said he had a 42" wheel horse SD deck $100, I tell him i'm interested can i come look and he said that was fine. I go to his house to look at it and i see that i was off a C-120 and i told him that it wouldn't work on my 1994 314-H and thanked him for letting me look, but as i was about to leave he stop me and said he thought he could make me a deal to come in his shop and look. I go and look and he says for a $100 you can have everything including the deck.....wait....what?? The "everything" he was talking about was the deck, mule drive, all the links that come off the C-120 to hook the deck up, the lift handle and the Kohler that he pulled off of it......um here is the $100 can i back up to this door here? Long story short i fell like i got a deal, my plan is to use the deck links if i can for my mid-mount blade and im going to mod the deck so it will fit my 1994 314-H and what i dont use i will donate to anyone on here that needs it! I will be posting pic's soon, sorry for the long on and off topic post. Edited January 25, 2022 by Southern_Secret

Southern_Secret 463 #35 Posted January 25, 2022 @WHX?? Now that you say that, for all you gurus on here, is it possible on the C-120 deck "attachment rod?" to move the slide stops from the inside to the outside like on my 314-H so it will hook up?
Southern_Secret 463 #36 Posted March 10, 2022 Well everyone I know it has been a few weeks from when I said I would get some pics for y'all, and I still dont have one of the blade I got. First we got the c-vid and both got over that pretty well, and then my better half who has alot of other medical conditions started filling bad about 2 weeks ago. She felt bad but not bad enough to worry her to much, and then last Wednesday she seem to be goind down hill, friday she was admitted to the hospital for pneumonia and bowl obstruction. As the days went on she got worst and the hospital let her go anyways, so the ambulance had to come get her and take her back Tuesday afternoon cause she had gotten pneumonia delirium and was in a different world, it was very scary not know what was going on and they transferred her to st. Vincent in Birmingham and she getting better............ all that so say I got my laptop and thought what better time to get on the fourm and slap some pics up! The stuff in the pics i got for $100 including a K341, the stuff is off a c120 and im thinking I can use some of the stuff for my mid-mount blade?
