Southern_Secret 463 #1 Posted December 23, 2021 I am in the beginning stages of building a mid-mount grader blade for my 314-H. I'm going to make it out of a motor grader edge blade, and im trying to make my mind up if i need to make a push type or a pull type? ebinmaine 67,321 #4 Posted December 23, 2021 PULL Use a PULL type. You'd be happy with a PULL type grader. Trina uses a pull type grader on her 867 to keep our driveway level and straight. My go to is the mid but would be slick if I could figure out how to use them both on the same tractor with independent lifts. For now just have to get another tractor for each blade..... We've had the same thought. There's been multiple occasions where Trina and I have wanted to move a little extra dirt by maybe shaving the driveway or the backyard. Her tractor isn't very heavy and neither is she so I was thinking of producing a blade that's 40" across like her grader and putting down maybe five or seven teeth. Run it a few passes back and forth across what we are trying to score up and then use a dozer blade or the smooth side of that grader blade to move the loose material out of the way. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

ebinmaine 67,321 #20 Posted December 23, 2021 Is there a round knob on your implement lift lever on the left of the tractor that controls how far that lever can drop? I like the idea of you building a very heavy duty grader blade and I think 100 lb is a good weight. I am thinking that you're going to want to have the ability to keep that set at a particular height so that when you're spreading loads it's not going to dig in too much too quickly... 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

A 5 footer, this thing is really neat, being able to 'flip' the blade for push or drag with simply pulling a lever under the arm and there is 2 settings for the angle in both positions. Just curious, having seen a lot of blades here on the forum but I have never seen this particular design. It came with a D180 I bought several years ago along with a plow (in the background) and disc, and was all bought by the PO as a package from a WH dealer. I havent used it many years, cause I got a Mitsu with FEL. It and the plow had been sitting out so I had just finished cleaning them up to sell.... 6 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
