Elkskin's mower junkyard 1,117 #1 Posted December 23, 2021 so back in June i went to the tractor show in evansville indiana took my 1994 gmc c1500 5.7l with 272k miles. well while i was down there it started running weird surging and no power at all with any type of electrical load on it. so when i came back it seemed fine. well running it around a bit and it came back big time. took it one place they had it for a month couldnt find anything. took it to a ex gm mechanic that just opened up a shop of his own and he did a few things and it was still having same problems. so i explained in fully that it would do it more often in gear with a electrical load on it. he replaced distributor with one i had. still there he got busy and i told him hey think on it and work on other customers vehicles in meantime. so a couple weeks ago he brings it in pulls all 8 plugs and they were in need of replacement which i had lol. he fixed my leaking manifold gasket and he says to me fuel pressure regulator is leaking and injectors are spraying heavy. so he rebuilds the throttle body and this is what he found in the injectors and i took apart the fuel pressure regulator to look at it lol. he gets it back together and intake gasket blows on cylinder 7, so off comes intake fixes that. and fuel pump goes out which was under warranty and i got him a new one to install. then fuel lines bust (i had rubber fuel lines spliced into the old lines replacing rotted areas from when truck sat for 4 years before i got it). so he ran plastic high pressure lines. it ran but just wasnt right. so today he told me drive it around. i did and got some codes out of it and replaced map sensor because it was original and then also replaced tps becasue it threw code number 22. after that runs beautiful. he said hes going to work with me on price since i waited patiently. but heres some pictures lol 1

peter lena 8,631 #3 Posted December 23, 2021 @Elkskin's mower junkyard , those codes are a stop gap to service , might be an idea to , install a screw on fuel filter base, set up , making for a much more thorough clean and easy filter changing . on line , makes a simple upgrade. just the crud related in your dish , shows' the crud in your tank . also noting the condition of that truck body. is there any rust on it ? if not what an opportunity to give it a aerosol lubricant , body cavity spray down , like in doors and tailgate area , imaging stopping / replacing ,rust with an oil film in body seam areas ? those screw on filters are on line , just an idea , pete

peter lena 8,631 #6 Posted December 23, 2021 living in conn, we already have the road lines sprayed down to enhance cold weather / snow traction . the other side of that is the alka seltzer , like metal eating effect on your ride. spray it down as often as possible to flush off the corrosion this stuff causes . cars and trucks in my area , 2 / 3 years old already show wheel well , fender edge rot / paint blisters . use LUBRIPLATE , OPEN GEAR / CHAIN AND CABLE SPRAYS ON MY , VEHICLES . does not wash off , and its lubrication soaking effect , is amazing . have a good holiday , be safe , pete
