Actually, I think Wheel Horse and Kohler both produced themselves nearly out of business. The Ponds were smart enough to sell at the pinnacle of the brand's reputation. Kohler "innovated", and now what they produce is disposable junk. Pot metal blocks and plastic gears with not the first bearing anywhere.

That being said, the past was a fantastic thing for us consumers, and it continues to this day. Imagine if everything was manufactured with decades of service built into it!

Back then when the local owner ran the company they built quality products and workers had pride it the products they built.

You originally worked for a good local company. It was sold, do you even know who or where the owner or owners live. I've heard that six multy national companies own dam near everything.

It would be a much better world. Things to be proud off and to own like what I have now. The glory days of U. S.A. Made. :USA:

Next time tho swap the filter and the gas cock around so you can change the fuel filter easer. Guessing the cock on the tank was fubar.

@Retierd Wrencher Gary  - did you disassemble the fuel pump to make sure the "check valves" are free of any debris that can settle in there? I realize that your setup is a gravity feed, but still worth checking.

WHX. Far as I know you cannot get the original shut off anymore. I did look around. I had an aftermarket on on there could not stop from it leaking. Thanks for the reply.

Gary are you talking about the OE shutoff that screws into the bottom of the metal tank?

If so, those are readily available. I have some here in stock and I can send you one if you want.

Yes but I thought they were out of stock. Non rubber bushing type. Can you send a picture of it?
