buckhornbob 13 #1 Posted December 20, 2021 To the more experienced I could use some guidance to level the snowblower on my 522xi. On a level surface, when the blower is raised, the right side is about 1 to 1.5 inches lower. When I drop the blower, everything seems to be fine. It is a bit of an aggravation on a gravel drive before I am able to get a good base established. Is this normal or can I adjust this somehow. Thanks for any advice. pfrederi 17,681 #2 Posted December 20, 2021 Don't have one of those fancy 2 stages but I know my single stage isn't level when it is raised. I doubt the unit itself is balanced and more importantly the belt tension is going to make it tilt. That is why they have wheels and or skids to keep the scrapper up away from the gravel... WHX?? 48,800 #3 Posted December 20, 2021 Mine does the same thing. Not only that it does not lift very high. I think it has something to do with the weight of the blower and the lift assist spring on the right side. I have everything is installed as per to the manual I believe. I just live with it for now. My single hangs fairly level.
buckhornbob 13 #4 Posted December 20, 2021 Thanks folks I think I may try a 1.5 to 2 inch metal tube bolted to the skids to see if that skips over some of the loose gravel. Saw that approach used once on a large 6 foot blower on a farm near where I used to live. It may help keep the gravel in the laneway and reduce the danger to trees, windows and passing vehicles. doc724 925 #5 Posted December 20, 2021 I had a 520xi with a single stage blower and I don't ever it remember it being tipped to one side when it was raised. The unit is a little heavier on the sprocket side, but the attachment points to the tractor are very wide compared to the classic WH tractors. I would check to make sure that the unit is correctly engaged into the front hitch. It is true that on the single stage blowers when mounted to a classic tractor, the side where the belt it attached is higher due to belt tension.
Pullstart 62,809 #6 Posted December 20, 2021 Nobody has stated or asked the obvious… are the rear tires the same pressure? The tractor sitting level? Even if it’s a little, maybe it has an effect overall…
