Gregor 4,846 #1 Posted December 20, 2021 (edited) I have 2 of these wheel weights. They came with my 175. One is quite heavy, the other simply hollow plastic. What are they typically filled with? Concrete? \ Edited December 20, 2021 by Gregor
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,035 #2 Posted December 20, 2021 Have seen them filled with sand but do not know who put it there. Makes sense that they could be shipped empty.
roadapples 6,983 #3 Posted December 20, 2021 Yes, cement/ concrete....
Gregor 4,846 #4 Posted December 20, 2021 My wife bought a bag of cement last summer and never used it. I may try to pour it in dry, put it in a tub of water, and let the cement do what cement does. Soak up moisture.
Maxwell-8 4,275 #5 Posted December 20, 2021 How heavy do they get once they are filled? are they lighter or heavier then steel?

I don't know what is in this one for sure, but there are some cracks in the back. Looks like concrete to me. It weighs 31#. I would have guessed more, but then gravity seems to be getting stronger, as I get older. For 31#, I'm not sure it's worth the hassle. As a second thought, I'm not even sure they will go on with the acorn style lug nuts. Edited December 20, 2021 by Gregor

Pullstart 62,809 #8 Posted December 20, 2021 (edited) Find someone who has some steel shot that you can pour in with the concrete? Now that I think of it, I’m pretty sure Putt Putt’s front hanging weight (that is concrete filled) also has shot in the mix. Racinbob 11,045 #9 Posted December 20, 2021 The Wheel Horse weights weigh 55# each. I don't know what brand the weights on the left are but they don't make it a mystery as to what they weigh. Both will work with your lugnuts.

That is an Orbitron weight, I wish they still made them.
