Kohler used better paint than Wheel Horse. Have some paint on the engine tins.

How to get a tractor out of the 2nd story?   Verrrry carefully.

If there is enough structure over the tractor, you could use a come along or rope and block & tackle to lower it.

If you were @Pullstart, you would pack your handy dandy fork lift along.

You could build cribbing up to the 2nd floor, roll the tractor onto it, then very carefully, jack the tractor up slightly, remove a layer of cribbing, lower the tractor.  Repeat until it is on the ground.

Ramps, if you can find boards long enough to make a reasonable slope.

Carried it as there was no room then fork lifted it down 😆

Took me a while, as well to appreciate the patina look.

the previous owner put oil on my raider before he got it stuck in a mudhole.

@whtractors24   while at the last  ZAGREY  FARM SHOW , was looking in amazement a ford son tracked / tractor , talked to the owner , I was asking about the incredible patinaed state if was in , very simply he said , rub it down with KEROSENE , no rust , lubricated finish , just looks like a time capsule , used a small hand pump gun to touch up tight spots . being a lubrication nut , could not have agreed more , pete

I always just power wash them with some degreaser. Then after I clean every nook and cranny with a toothbrush I rub it all down with boiled linseed oil. On the 500 Special I only painted the wheels and the plow. Changed the seat.. The rest of it is all elbow grease. People think the paint won't come back but it will with some work.

Talk about tough spots to get tractors from, how about this RJ35? So sad it is the model they used as advertising.

I remember my dad telling me that people used to add a little kerosene to the soap and water when washing a car. Then dry it to a nice shine.

@slim67 that would have made sense for the era , my fathers idea of a car wash was to , rub it down after it rained ! don't think I  ever saw him actually soap and water wash it down, used to cover the hood in blankets in a shed in cold weather.  good old days, pete

@D-MAC , think your example of an oil lubrication paint save is obvious , no matter what I  have picked up , if you want to make it look alive and show it some love , a lubrication rub down is the way to go , go oily , pete
