adsm08 2,064 #1 Posted December 19, 2021 Anyone have access to a good, comprehensive oil/hydraulic filter interchange book? I borrowed a log splitter from a friend on the condition that I change the hydraulic filter before returning it. Said friend is a real Ford nut, so I thought it'd be funny to bring it back with a Ford/Motorcraft branded filter on it. The OEM filter is a SCAG 19-9380 or Luberfiner LFP1652. Luber's chart says the only Ford application is the spin-on tranny filter for the 00-03 650/750, which has an Allison transmission.
Racinbob 11,082 #2 Posted December 19, 2021 I'm not sure l'd deviate from what the manufacturer states in this case but if you must you won't go wrong with a Motorcraft. I've had just about every brand made cut apart to see the goodies. I even had them on display years ago. There were several that were obviously garbage and several that were obviously superior and Motorcrafts were in that group. Being a nothing but Ford guy I now use nothing but Motorcrafts in everything that uses a filter.

Right, obviously I don't want to deviate from the manufacturer recommendations, but finding an MC number that interchanges should qualify as keeping within recommendations.
