If that's a spark plug thread size I would say it's for measuring piston height?

I've owned Tee Come Sirs in the past, does that count?

Kinda what I was thinking... screw into spark plug hole, measure piston height, indirectly tells you the degrees.

It is for setting the timing, you will measure the distance the piston should be before top dead center and adjust the points to just open there.  Many motorcycles used the same method.  I have one supplied by Suzuki.

The other vintage device is a tachometer, I have one of those as well.

I'm thinking I should have bought that as well. Kind-a cool. Any idea of it's age?

It was originally patented in 1897, I don't know when the last was produced, perhaps the early 1950's.
