I didn’t know about those. I was going to attempt to hand paint them but the decals will look nicer. I’m going to order them from @Vinylguy. I also want to get some custom black hood decals for it. 1

It plows snow ,pulls trailers around the property and is a back up mower when my walk behind is broken. Going to put it in parades this year too. My son says it doesn’t look tough anymore and is too pretty. Lol. He also said we won’t be able to use the hood for a workbench anymore 😂 3 1 1
Gregor 4,846 #58 Posted January 12, 2022 I tried to buy Candy Apple Red in a can, apparently you can't. I have a spray gun now, is that color difficult to paint? Like silver ?

Like silver ? It required a silver-red base under the red candy. It’s a little tricky to spray. You need a slower reducer for the silver so it doesn’t come out blotchy, the gun needs to be even with the surface, you need to be careful not to drop your spraying elbow down so you don’t get stripes and you need to keep a 6-8 inch distance so the metallic will lay down evenly. I raise the gun up to 10” on the last coat and spray faster than the previous coats so the metallic stands up and looks even. The candy coats require you to spray the full length of the panel and be careful of overlapping too much so you don’t get dark areas. You can’t stop and start in the middle of the panel. It’s challenging, the kids had to repaint a couple of the panels because they messed up. It’s also very rewarding when it turns out good in the end.

BHunter 1,700 #65 Posted January 25, 2022 Today we made good progress. We installed new axle seals, put the drive belt and pulleys on, did some wiring, installed the clutch and brake rods, and installed the id tag. 10

Depending on where you do it, you'd need a warehouse-sized paint boot! 3-4 members show up. Like me, they'd bring a half dozen tractors at once! 1 1

We could paint everyone’s tractor at one time.

Too funny! 1
peter lena 8,634 #73 Posted January 26, 2022 @BHunter agree with others on your paint and detail work ! engine picture , see the opportunity to improve starting ? put a fuel check valve VERTICALLY in line from fuel pump to carb , simple / easy , holds a fuel charge for carb , insuring starting ease. have that on my 3 magnum engines , lots of hours and verify the way to go . just an idea, pete

I never liked how long I had to crank the engine until it finally got fuel into the carb. thanks for the recommendation! 1
