Gee, I feel like we need some :wh: border patrol..

I elect @SylvanLakeWH to secure the south line.  I’ll secure the west shore.

Where you are must be cold. Looks like you have a seat warmer plugged in.

It means the hood is vented.:) I had vented hoods on my 520-H and 210-H

Louvered hoods were only used on very few models.

I'm no expert on the '80s and '90s tractors.... 417A, 520 (H or 8). Not sure what others...

Being a 520 with a manual lift would make it an 8-speed which are not common.

did the 417A have both at the same time?  I don’t mind being wrong, I just want to make sure I’m wrong :ROTF:

I'm amazed that while only 225 or so of these were ever made, they keep turning up almost 40 years later!

And that one looks VERY good! Mine looked like it had NASCAR crashed before falling into a swamp.

did the 417A

I thought the 417-A was one of the "contradiction tractors" that actually used the Eaton 1100 with hydraulic lift, just like all the "-H" tractors of the time had?

If correct, it had the louvered hood but no manual lift arm.

@wh5208speed  nice pick up on that ! make a regular start on anything paint starved that i pick up , with a  spray lubrication of your choice feed that paint , let it settle down and then wipe it down till dry , spray it again and let it sit to soak in the lubricant , rub down till dry . you have just saved the patina , at that stage I  have used 6" electric palm buffer an cleaner wax . and it pulled the paint right out !  deep shine  , just an idea , sure your head is spinning over what you are going to do on your new toy,  merry Christmas, pete

I think the 300, 400 and 500 series all had to louvered hood. Good find, the 8 speeds are not easy to come by in my area. I want one to go with my 520H.

418-A had the louvers,   :scratchead:     don't think any 300 series had them.
