Adding hydraulic pump for loader. . .

Recommended Posts

PetesPonies1

Charger 12 . . . I was thinking of running a hydro pump from the PTO pulley on the right side. That way I can start and stop the hydro pump??  No mowing deck will ever be on this machine once the loader is on. Any ideas of what pump to buy and mount? Any pics?

WHX??

What flavor  PTO Pete? Electric?  Mechanical?  Most guys custom mount it on the lower frame rail just below the crank. But it can be slid forward abit for clearance of Hy lines but be careful for clearance on front tires.

Northern Tool has a nice selection of pumps. Lots of threads here on doing it. I have no pics of mine running on a 520 tho. Others will be along to advise.... thers Apples now.

Well then yer ok then 'Apples I don't care what Dan or the 'Fish says about you !

I was going to suggest Ponies research some of the OEM  stuff for some ideas on what they do and copy with some improvements .

My pump is located just below the PTO (mechanical) and works good. The belt that drives it is a abit loose and squeals abit when you bottom out the rams but I consider that a good thing to let an operator to know end of travel and let off the spool right away.

@rmaynard may have some pics on one he did?

If I understand you right they all did. If you go in the files section there will be manuals with IPLs for most of them. Early FELs might have been a Johnson.  Later ones a Ark or Kwik Way.

Here is a fine selection of pumps.

Make sure to get a pump designed to be belt driven.

Shaft driven pumps don't have bearings to take the side thrust.

It is difficult to find a belt drive pump, I used this one and mounted it on my sub-frame.

Here's the pump I used for my back hoe and will work perfect for a loader too. It will handle the side load of a pulley and belt drive

Thanks. It  seems not many will actually state they can be driven by a pulley.

I can get some Cessnas, but don't have any idea how much fluid they move.
