Anyone got a clue what this spring is for?

I was thinking maybe for a rear pto mule tensioner..

A to Z tractor I believe has new tines.

I checked with Lincoln at A-Z last year he said they did have anymore but was hoping to have more made soon. He got my number and my email but I haven't heard from him, they were around $550.00 a set.

Hello,

I believe it is also PTO idle spring. There is a nice illustration in WH Parts and Service Manual for 300 and 400 series. See section 6 page 18.

i have a tiller for my 312-8 and that is where i have an "idler spring" that regulates the pulley attachment below the pto for the tiller belt that goes to rear of tractor

I'm researching tillers for my 310-8 and it seems I need to be looking for one with idler pulleys.
