Good news everyone (who may still be following). Passed my year long schooling which gave me time to mess with the horse again. I was having an issue with it being a bear to start and keep running. If I did get it running it would be very sensitive to changing throttle setting. Put some thread tape around the petcock and cleaned it up, no leak. Found a kit to rebuild the bowl drain, no leak (I have an extra if anyone needs it) Also, I cleaned out the breather tube and no more oil leak, got lucky. Talked to my grandpa about it and he recommended swapping out the new condenser for the original one. After doing that, easy starts and smoother running. I can tell it's original because it still had "Tecumseh" stamped into it. The new one I used was from partstree and even came in a tech bag, I know that means nothing though as new parts don't mean good parts. Now my issue is finding a drive belt guard, I misplaced the original 15 years ago. I may just end up using some metal around the engine pulley until I can find one. It makes it necessary to drive it as the belt gets thrown high off the pulley when the clutch is used, making the belt still engage and spin at engine speed, which means no shifting unless you use your boot to pinch the belt against something and eventually ruin it. As far as resto goes, I haven't decided yet, I kind of like the way it looks. I'll probably have more pictures and videos of it soon. Thanks for reading!

no shifting

Very important piece of information here. Hopefully you are NOT shifting that tractor while in motion.

Wheel Horse manual transmissions should NOT be moved from one gear to another unless you are at a full complete stop.

If you don't get a response fairly soon on the belt guard try contacting Lincoln at a to z.

If you need measurements to try to make one, let me know. Trina has a 657.

We still have the original engine but hers has a Briggs right now so I'm not sure but what you may be able to adapt a belt guard from a Kohler equipped tractor.
