Those boxes are adjustable.  I have also made new adjuster screws ( # 15 in diagram )from grade 8, 1/2"  bolts. These screws ride in the spiral of the shaft. Over time, the screws get wore flat. Sometimes you can turn them just enough to get back to a round surface, sometimes not.

I'll have to check my adjuster screw. I cant remember if its worn flat or not. My problem is the aluminum housing that holds the big threaded plug has a fair size chunk missing and those weird cup bearings are less than stellar. I didn't realize Hapco had them.

On the Ross Steering boxes, if you need to replace the upper tubing, it is an odd size.  

But the tubing they use for Trampolines legs will fit. I used it on my Case 180 ross Steering box rebuild and had to sand the outside just a little with my belt sander to get it to fit.  I used JB Weld to glue it to the aluminum housing.

I got a chance to speak with the owner of the collection.

 

Super nice guy. Very bright. Very intelligent. Very aware of what he has and it's quite a huge collection.

 

I'll have to pow wow with the BBT later today and see when we can get up there to poke around....

Fella has some rare stuff in the tractor world. He's well aware of what that Panzer loader is and the rarity of them.

Far as full size tractors he has several Hart Parr, even has a Plymouth brand which predates the Silver King.

The two in particular that I would be interested in are the Minneapolis Moline and what appears to be a Panzer with a loader?

I am not going to lie. I wish I was living in Maine today. That Moline and that White I saw would be in my shop. Plus several of those  Massey"s. The Minneapolis Moline Is from the latest Moline series before they joined Cockshutt,  Minneapolis Moline, Oliver. And? White farm equipment. At that time they were fashioned so? When farmers bought a new tractor? MM,White and Oliver offered them a mower at a huge discount. It was a sales gimmic alot like the WH 420LSE. Except? The 420 LSE was custom and expensive.  These mowers were designed to sell more heavy tractors. They were made in the image their larger counter parts. That Moline is in the Vista image. Later they matched Oliver in the 1600 series image. When Cockshutt, MM. And? Oliver looked very similar. With different colors of course. But? When White became the Parent company? Then, The White mowers looked like the later WFE's with the chrome grille and sleeker lines. On An interesting note? In the Mid 90's? The original Minneapolis Moline building in Minneapolis Mn. was razed to build a parking ramp on Washington Ave in Minneapolis. I hauled a lot of concrete there. In  2015/16? The last Minneapolis Moline Factory in Hopkins, MN. was razed. And? a New apartment complex was built in its place On Excelsior Blvd. In Hopkins. Again? I hauled alot of concrete there too. The neat part (at least to me)? Is that they have memorabilia of MM posted conspicuously all over. COOL. It would probably cost a fortune to get it here. DANG.
