Roger R 442 #7 Posted December 6, 2021 I have run chains on turf tires year around without problems. Great for banks and other steep areas especially when the grass is a bit damp. I found it does less damage to the turf due to little or no slip. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
ri702bill 8,294 #8 Posted December 6, 2021 You may also want to consider filling your rear tires with a non-freezing liquid like RV antifreeze, winter winshield washer fluid (as mine are) , or @ebinmaine's favorite - Rim Guard beet juice - IF you have a vendor for that near you. The first 2 weigh about 7-1/2 lbs per gallon, Rim Guard is heavier, around 10 lbs or so per gallon. My 23x8.50x12 turf tires hold about 5 and a half gallons each. You need to use tire tubes with the first 2 choices also - Rim Guard, as the name implies, is safe to use with painted steel wheels. 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
