8ntruck 7,016 #27 Posted December 5, 2021 (edited) Picked up 2 gallons of ethanol free gas today. 4 miles up the road, $4.089 per gallon today. They set the pump up to shut off by price, not volume. The clerk behind the counter called another clerk over to help him figure out how much to charge to get two gallons. Kind of confirms my theory about calculators being the downfall of civilization. Oh, I'm watching Robert Mitchum in Thunder Road while I'm writing this. Edited December 5, 2021 by 8ntruck 1

Stormin 9,981 #31 Posted December 10, 2021 Been running my tractors on E5 for a few years now. Not had any problems. Maybe I shouldn't have said that. Now the government in it's wisdom have started to change things to E10. I can still get E5 but for how long is anyone's guess. Told SWMBO to make sure she puts E5 in her 14yr old Mazda2. I wish we were paying the same prices as you lads. Talking around £7+ a gallon. I'll let you do the conversion.

Now the ethanol scammers are pushing for a mandatory E15.
Andy N. 2,154 #33 Posted December 10, 2021 I also suggest downloading the app "Pure Gas" onto your phone. It shows all the places that sell ethanol free gas.

Looking in the Koehler Magnum manual, Norm, it states that the Magnum engine is okay running on up-to 10% ethanol mix. I buy my ‘E5’ 99octane from Tesco’s. No problem so far! Don’t forget the US gallon is slightly smaller than ‘Our’ gallon, so the difference in cost becomes less.
