rear rack

Recommended Posts

Maxwell-8

I am currently in the process of making a rear rack for my WH. The plan is to use it for carrying bags of deer or bird feed to the forest.

I am not the best welder, but I love to fabricate.

Fab' work looks ok to me. Just something I wondering about. Looking at the size of it and what you wanting to carry, Are you fitting some weight on the front end? Seems a lot of rear overhang.

Thinking the same thing and feed isn't light. @rjg854 has a nice rear hauler. :)

Indeed. Not something for you guys out there with a predator swapped WH. I plan on using it on my C-141D with a diesel of 190lbs. I will have to be carefull for wheelies for sure.

The more you do it, the better it gets.  Turned out the gas inside the wire had gone missing. the new one does better.

I have 4x20kg (4x 44lbs) bags on here. total of 80kg/176lbs. The frontend stays down, and still have to lift quite a bit to get the front-end up

When our Jil flew home to Germany a month and a half ago, we were weighing her luggage.  She said “it’s good.”  I picked it up and said “that’s way more than 50 lbs!”  “But it’s less than the overweight max.” She said!

That lombardini 510 is no joke. The hood will have to be lifted +4" to fit.

Voila, apart from some tick mesh and paint I am done.

My C-160 hauls as much as 200 to 300 lb tongue weight. Uphill. Steep.

Disclaimer: all 4 tires are fluid filled.

I have around 110 lb extra at the front.

So I'm thinking that 141 should be able to hold 3 maybe 4 bags of food at 50 lb each....

Was I you, I'd just put em on.

You might not know they're needed til it's 1.7 seconds too late.

I think I will be using that often. Not only for feed. But I have often felt the need for some storage.

This will be ideal for carrying tools like chainsaw, etc. around the property. Without the need of the big trailer. (which I can still hook up)

 Waterloo NY. Elevation, 469 ft   50lbs = 50Lbs

Hasselt. Belgium  Elevation 125 FT.  50 NY Lbs = 50.0000000000000000000000062 Belgium Lbs

Just a guess mind you. :confusion-confused:
