I just got a 1970 wheel horse to add to my collection it is a GT14 Automatic hydro the trans has a filter but it was panted so I can see the number anybody know the filter number and what kind of fluid and how much it takes?

Wix 51410

 

If the fluid is red/pink then use DexMerc ATF  If it is tan use 10w-30 or 10w-40 motor oil

 

Don't mix them.

NAPA filters are made by Wix. Their number is 1410...

Napa 1410 which is the same filter as a WIX. Some purists use the OEM filter which are still around. Toro 5990 on that one. Figure on 4-5 quarts 

Apples is faster.... :)

Wixx, Napa, Toro/Wheel Horse, any brand filter that doesn't have orange paint on it. :twocents-twocents: Looks like the gang has you covered.

I'll second that. Fram used to make a great product back before Allied Signal bought them and they bailed from RI to Mexico. Not a great product now .....
