Another option is to cut two opposing slits in the pipe of the muffler and then use a exhaust clamp to clamp the muffler to the pipe fitting. Agreed on the look. I like it. You could also get an expander or have an exhaust shop do an expansion on the muffler inlet. A nice neat clean mig weld would really be the way to go if possible. Redav72 227 #27 Posted December 30, 2021 I took the muffler and the bushing down to my local muffler/brake shop and for 20$ they expanded and then welded the two together. Pretty pleased and it sounds really nice. The next two thing I need to do is put an extender with a side outlet so that the exhaust isn't directly in my face, before I do that though I'd worried about weight and so I'd like to put a little band iron strut underneath. Will post more pictures once I've got both done. 4

I bent a piece of steel strapping to run from the bottom clamp at the base of the muffler down to the frame. Seems to be holding up well.
sjoemie himself 3,068 #29 Posted December 30, 2021 Looking good. And like @ebinmaine said this is probably the best and safest way to go. That ain't going nowhere
Roger R 448 #30 Posted December 31, 2021 Hard to beat the Chargers. This muffler is a Simplicity, entrance and exit on the same end. 1
Redav72 227 #31 Posted December 31, 2021 Looks good there @Roger R. I like the look of the weights in the front, is that largely aesthetic or does it help? I suppose it'd have to come off for plowing.

I use it for lawn rolling and a pull type sprayer where maneuverability is definitely a plus.
Redav72 227 #33 Posted December 31, 2021 Thanks, what tires are you using there?

ebinmaine 67,494 #35 Posted December 31, 2021 @Redav72 Speaking of front weights here's a pic of Trina's 867. Similar tractor but short frame small block. Lack of steering for her is a constant because we use the tractors in the woods and leaves are nearly as slippery as snow. Her weight is a bracket of simple angle iron and a rectangle of steel that's about 45 lb. The front tires have roller chain installed. Huge help.

If you get a 1" X 1/2" X 1" black Iron Tee in place of the 90 (1/2" facing down). Pick up a 1/2" plug you can drill and tap the plug for a bolt, bolt the band iron to the bottom of the plug and will have a clean appearing sturdy brace.
Redav72 227 #37 Posted January 1, 2022 Like that idea. I might extend it a bit and use a split-ring hanger since it's already got the threads. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0078S1JK2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Mike in NC 341 #38 Posted January 1, 2022 Nice find. Here is the stack I put on our Bronco 14. It is for a Farmall Cub. I bought it at Tractor Supply. You would have to assemble a few elbows and nipples to get it to work.
Redav72 227 #39 Posted January 1, 2022 Another thing I'm running into. The twist-lock throttle is driving me crazy, I'll get it set and then is slowly slips to an idle. Any ideas?
pfrederi 17,739 #40 Posted January 1, 2022 You can buy a new one for some $$ or do what I do... 1 clothes pin fast idle 2 full throttle... 3 3 1

Agree. Excellent use of advanced technology… But I think they should be painted either Regal Red or satin black. I mean, there are standards that should be met…
